Play is “random and creative.” evolutionary biologist Marc Bekoff Children learn about life through play. Social norms are learned and explored in meaningful ways. As children are playing, they are building neurons and developing executive functioning skills…both aid in learning. An important element in laying the foundation in literacy is the development of oral language development. Play is a natural way to foster the development of language.
